Bacteria are everywhere and usually already present on the cake, but by blowing out the candles a person is able to contaminate the baked treat with illnesses that are transferred pathogenically such as the cold or the flu. Bacteria counts increased 14 times more than icing that hadn't been blown on, on average. Dawson added that while some people transfer a ton of bacteria, others don't transfer any. (more...)

Earlier, the PNG ministry had asked public sector oil marketing companies to raise prices of subsidised domestic LPG cylinders by Rs 2 per 14.2 kg every month, excluding Value-Added Tax, with effect from July 1, 2016. This means a hike of ₹24 per cylinder in the past year. After April that year, the prices started to drop and in September 2016, it reached at Rs 466.50. (more...)

The only local cases confirmed this year all were linked to exposure to the virus in 2016. The Florida Department of Health said the virus was was sexually transmitted by an individual who had recently returned from Cuba. The Zika virus can cause mild symptoms in those it infects, but it's especially risky to unborn fetuses by causing microcephaly, a birth defect in babies associated with neurological disorders and an underdeveloped head. After the Supreme Court's 2012 ruling, Missouri lacked valid sentencing guidelines for juvenile murderers, forcing the state's prosecutors to instead charge young offenders with second-degree murder. To impose life without parole, a jury must unanimously agree that prosecutors have proven additional factors, such as torture of the victim. Members of the Kannada Development Authority led by chairman S G Siddaramaiah visited BMRCL office on Tuesday. In the letter, Siddaramaiah noted that there are seven chief engineers in BMRC who are non-Kannadigas. Hindi, along with Kannada and English, is there on the front of the stations.
