Avis Budget Group Inc . said Monday that it will provide fleet support and maintenance services for Waymo's program at its Avis and Budget auto rental locations. The move also underscores the importance of autonomous driving technology for companies like Waymo . The maintenance deal does not appear to extend to the actual rental of self-driving cars; riders who wish to use Waymo's vehicles now must apply for permission to participate in the company's early rider program. In addition to trying to locate Aramazd, police are still trying to determine why the boy's father was passed out in the park. Officers discovered the vehicle had been impounded that same morning in South Pasadena. I can only speculate that I must have been attacked in the park, given my unresponsive state and subsequent physical condition. Aramazd's mother is distraught, and has appealed to the public to come forward with any information they might have on her missing son. (more...)

Matthew Howard Sr. and his daughter, Leeann Winchell, say they were about to leave Six Flags Great Escape near Albany, New York on Saturday when they saw the 14-year-old dangling from the "Sky Ride" gondola. The girl's little brother was sitting beside her and screamed for help. A 47 year old Schenectady man who was also a guest at the park was treated for a back injury suffered as he was attempting to catch the falling victim. (more...)

Hassanen encountered Torres when she was walking with a group of her friends to All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) Center, one of the largest mosques in the country. The young graphic artist says Hassanen's slaying hit close to home. Chaudry said that when a Muslim commits a crime, officials are quick to treat it as an act of terror, but when the perpetrator is not Muslim, police seem to approach it differently. (more...)
