Charred remains of a memorial for Nabra Hassanen . Hassanen encountered Torres when she was walking with a group of her friends to All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) Center, one of the largest mosques in the country. The young graphic artist says Hassanen's slaying hit close to home. Chaudry said that when a Muslim commits a crime, officials are quick to treat it as an act of terror, but when the perpetrator is not Muslim, police seem to approach it differently. (more...)

So far in 2017, despite the pipe-dreams of the Democrat Party leadership and the hopeful predictions of the Trump-hating media, Republicans are 4-0 in special House elections. Another Democrat who has been pushing for leadership changes, Rep. Filemon Vela of Texas, told CNN the group didn't make any decisions at Thursday's meeting, but those who participated believe there is growing unrest among House Democrats about the direction of the current leadership team.
