The 81-year old man took out a Ruger.38 hangun cleared it and showed it to other parishioners during an early Thanksgiving dinner on November 9 at First United Methodist Church in Tellico Plains. The bullet then hit his wife in the lower left side, went out the right side of her stomach, and through her right forearm. Both suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said. (more...)

Reports said that an image of the "enemy" in the mock exercise was actually a photo of modern Turkey's founder, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk .
