A Cleveland, Ohio, boy underwent emergency surgery after someone opened fire on his mother during an extreme road rage incident on Sunday night. A bullet hit the 4-year-old boy in the head. Cleveland EMS took the 4-year-old to University Hospital's Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. No arrests have been made in the case. Preliminary information suggests that the bullets did not penetrate the boy's brain. (more...)

A weakening Typhoon Noru made landfall in central Japan on Monday, pounding some regions with more than a month's worth of rain, but while it appeared likely to brush close to Tokyo it was losing much of its strength.
