Comment on 'dying' John McCain draws bipartisan condemnation

John Mc Cain and his wife Cindy on stage while campaigning for the 2008 presidential election

John McCain's (R-AZ) opposition to Central Intelligence Agency director nominee Gina Haspell because he's "dying" still works in the administration, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Friday.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said yesterday that Sadler still works for the White House.

Sanders tells reporters she's 'not going to validate a leak out of an internal staff meeting one way or the other.' She did not mention McCain's name.

McCain's daughter, Meghan McCain, reacted to the White House aide's mocking remarks on Friday on "The View", saying she doesn't "understand what kind of environment you're working in when that would be acceptable and then you can come to work the next day and still have a job".

The White House had released a more supportive statement Thursday evening that said, "We respect Senator McCain's service to our nation and he and his family are in our prayers during this hard time". She did not respond to a request for comment Thursday evening. He left Washington in December and few expect him to return.

White House budget director Mick Mulvaney pushed back Saturday on calls to fire the aide, saying the purported joke about McCain's health was "awful" but not worth firing her over. "I don't call it torture, let's call it 'really mean interrogation techniques.' They're not on the medieval rack, this isn't the end of Braveheart". McCain's has said his defiance of his captors was motivated by a loyalty to his fellow American prisoners of war. Coming to her father's defense, she said his "legacy is going to be talked about hundreds and hundreds of years".

Ms. Sadler works in the White House communications office focusing on illegal immigration.

A spokesperson for Fox News said they have banished the guest who said torture "worked" on Sen.

Biden's son, Beau Biden, was also diagnosed with and died from the same type of brain cancer McCain is diagnosed.

McCain has always denied giving up harmful information when he was a prisoner of war and when critics distributed a flyer during the 2008 SC presidential primary claiming he did, it was debunked by the fact-finding website PolitiFact. "That is something we try to do in both word and action".

The crowd booed, and Trump added, "I won't use his name".

Sanders was asked repeatedly if President Trump bears responsibility for setting the tone in the White House.

"They are terrible", Mulvaney said of the comments on Cavuto Live.
