Revise Iran nuclear deal: Arab League

OPEC's Barkindo Vows to Maintain Crude Market Stability, but Saudis Worry About Supply Shortage

His comments came after Trump defied the wishes of the other parties to the nuclear deal - France, the UK, Germany, Russia and China - by announcing the U.S. would pull out of the accord and impose new sanctions on Tehran.

The government approved a national policy for its atomic energy programme on Tuesday, including limiting all nuclear activities to peaceful purposes, within the limits defined by worldwide treaties.

On Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that the United State would "exit the Iran deal", and warned that "any nation that helps Iran in its quest for nuclear weapons could be strongly sanctioned". "We have made it very clear, if Iran acquires nuclear capability, we will do everything we can to do the same".

Saudi Arabia has expressed support for the US pulling out of the nuclear deal, saying it did not adequately address Iran's behavior in the region.

The Saudi foreign minister responded they will do "whatever it takes to protect our people".

Trump said on Tuesday that the 2015 nuclear deal, which lifted sanctions on Iran in return for measures restricting its nuclear programme, did not go far enough in removing the threat posed by Tehran to the US and its allies in the Middle East.

"As long as Iran was constrained and closely inspected, the Saudis could afford to put off their nuclear ambitions", Mark Fitzpatrick, executive director of the American branch of the International Institute for Strategic Studies, said on Tuesday.

Saudi Arabia's air defences "intercepted" one of the missiles, while another crashed into a desert area south of Riyadh, coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki said.

"We need to assess first the impact if there is any, in terms of disruption, in terms of a reduction of IranĀ“s production", the OPEC source said on Wednesday.

Negotiating a new deal on output levels is likely to prove tricky since OPEC operates by consensus and sanctions pit two of its most important producers directly against one another.

"Trump has placed U.S. foreign policy in the hands of the coalition of Israel under Netanyahu and Saudi Arabia under [Crown Prince] Mohammad bin Salman, which his son in law Jared Kushner helped bring together to collectively wage war against Iran and Syria", he said.

Yemen's policy of targeting only Saudi Arabia's economic facilities and state-run airports and its refusal to attack civilian areas signifies that the Yemeni forces respect moral and human values, the commander explained.

In the week prior to Trump's decision Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in an internationally-broadcast address presented old intelligence and tried to claim that Tehran was continuing to develop nuclear weapons.

As a practical matter, only Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Russia and the United States have the ability to raise production and exports in the short term.

In theory, too, the United States is open to granting waivers to importers of Iranian crude, provided they show some willingness to reduce their purchases.
