A mother and her two young children have died after their auto hit an alligator on Interstate 95 in SC, authorities said.

Amber Stanley, 24, her son Jack, four, and daughter Autumn, two, collided with the reptile as it crossed I-95 in SC about 12.50am on Monday. Stanley and her two youngsters died from thermal accidents, Fogle stated.

Andrew Grosse, an alligator biologist with the Department of Natural Resources, said alligators tend to move around during April and May because it's the peak of mating season.

Her Kia Soul then careened into the median and hit a tree, causing the vehicle to catch fire, Jones said.

Stanley's husband, Josh Stanley, advised FOX30 he had been Pennsylvania for work if his spouse and children expired. "I'll go, 'That's Amber.' And I know it's not", he continued. The trio had made a decision to go for a weekend trip during the right time of their death.

"I'll be walking around, and I'll just see something out of the corner of my eye".

The Stanleys have been from Callahan, Fla., a city northwest of Jacksonville.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate. "I'm nonetheless form of processing although", the devastated husband stated.
