Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson undergoes emergency brain surgery

The 76-year-old was United manager from 1986 to 2013, winning the Champions League twice, the Premier League 13 times and five FA Cups.

The former Manchester United boss, 76, is seriously ill in intensive care after undergoing emergency surgery following a brain haemorrhage.

'The procedure has gone very well but he needs a period of intensive care to optimise his recovery. His household request privateness on this matter'.
