White House Counsel Don McGhan expected to leave Trump administration

Americans Are Tiring of Mueller Witch Hunt

President Donald Trump doubled down on his "witch hunt" characterization of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe Friday, saying that a group of "angry Democrats" is running an "unfair" investigation.

"I would love to go, I would love to speak", Trump repeated.

"I would love to speak", he insisted. "Nobody wants to speak more than me. because we've done nothing wrong", Trump told reporters at the White House."But I have to find a way to be treated fairly". Trump and he had discussed disclosing Trump's repaying Cohen, and "he was well aware that at some point when I saw the opportunity, I was going to get this over with", Giuliani added.

Trump's public deliberations came as his legal team is considering whether to allow the president to be interviewed by Mueller's team, which has been investigating potential coordination between Russian Federation and the Trump campaign, which the president has vehemently denied.

The New York Times reported in January that McGahn threatened to resign a year ago when Trump ordered Mueller to be fired.

"This isn't some game", Dowd had told Mueller during a meeting in March, according to a Washington Post report.

However, McCarthy, speaking before Trump's comments, said that if Mueller's team can't provide the evidence of a crime, or that only Trump can give certain evidence, "the Justice Department should not allow Mueller even to request an interview".

Even if Mueller's team chose to subpoena Trump as part of the investigation, he could still fight it in court or refuse to answer questions by invoking his Fifth Amendment protection from self-incrimination. "You are screwing with the work of the president of the United States", he had said.

On Tuesday, Trump said it was "disgraceful" that a list of proposed questions drafted in response to Mueller's negotiations with the legal team was "leaked" to the news media. Trump and his lawyers have said in recent days that they fear Mueller is trying to trap Trump into committing perjury during an extended interview. "He started yesterday. He will get his facts straight".

White House spokesman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement Wednesday that Flood would be joining the White House staff to "represent the president and the administration against the Russian Federation witch hunt". "Right now it is a pure witch hunt".

Trump also complained that there are too many Democrats on Mueller's team.

Trump's new lawyer, former New York Metropolis Mayor Rudy Giuliani, mentioned any interview between Trump and Mueller will need to have parameters and can't final greater than three hours. Some of those lawmakers have asked for an unredacted version of a Justice Department document from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein that sets out the scope for Mueller's probe, a request that the department immediately denied because it pertains to an ongoing investigation.
