Beyoncé just reunited with Destiny's Child onstage at Coachella

Beyonce is set to perform at Coachella on Saturday

Addressing her ground-breaking status during her set, Beyoncé said: "Thank you Coachella for allowing me to be the first black woman to headline".

She paid tribute to historically black colleges and universities and performed Lift Every Voice and Sing, known as the unofficial national black anthem.

She sang several songs from her album "Lemonade", backed up by the band and surrounded by step dancers. At one point in her set, DJ Khaled declared that the festival should be renamed "Beychella".

The entire BeeHive has been really excited to hear the news of Beyoncé performing at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival after a year-long hiatus. She created history as the first black woman to headline Coachella on Saturday.

She stormed through almost every song she has ever released - including the world's quickest duet with husband Jay-Z - and even took the time to get a manicure halfway through the set.

Beyonce suffered a small wardrobe malfunction during her performance at the 2018 Coachella. "I hope y'all enjoyed the show, we worked very hard".

Rumours that Destiny's Child would reform for this year's festival have been circulating for months. "We need your energy!" Fans will have to wait and see what other surprises she has up her sleeve for her second set. The trio performed their hits like 'Lose My Breath, ' 'Say My Name, ' and 'Soldier'.

Jay-Z also joined his wife on stage for a performance of their 2012 song Deja Vu, while Solange later came on stage to dance with her elder sister.
