President Trumps Homeland Security Adviser Resigned

White House aide Tom Bossert pushed out by new national security adviser John Bolton

John Bolton took over Monday and has cleaned house.

Bolton reportedly asked for Bossert's resignation on Tuesday but White House press secretary Sarah Sanders did not elaborate on that detail.

"Together, we captured your vision for a strong and confident America and developed your America First National Security Strategy-which turned that vision into a strategic direction for your Administration", Schadlow wrote in her resignation letter to the president.

Schadlow is the third senior national security official to leave the administration this week following Bolton's arrival - and she will likely not be the last.

Earlier this week, the spokesperson for the National Security Council, Michael Anton, also announced his resignation from the White House. Bossert also suffered from a confusing chain of command inside the White House.

"The president is thankful for Tom's devotion to the safety and protection of the great country", Ms. Sanders stated.

"I was proud to work with LTG H.R. McMcaster and the National Security Council team".

Beyond Russia, there was widespread frustration in the White House that Bossert's office had failed to produce formal strategies to deal with counterterrorism and cyberactivities.

In addition, Trump's Homeland Security Adviser, Tom Bossert, resigned on Tuesday. His sudden resignation, if forced, suggests that Bolton may be intent on ensuring that Bossert's replacement on cyber and counterterror strategy reports directly to him.

"The administration thanks Dr. Schadlow for her service and leadership in crafting the President's "America First" national security strategy".

Under the George W. Bush administration, the HSC and NSC worked as separate staffs.
