You can get an archive of your Instagram account soon

Focus: Instagram's New Camera Format In Stories

Now Instagram, a Facebook property, has decided to make the option available too.

It is about time for Instagram to roll out something similar to the Download Your Information tool of Facebook, which the social network released in 2010.

Using the new feature is quite easy as you need to open your Instagram story and swipe to the left twice. Yes, Instagram is going to build its own data portability tool that will allow users to download a copy of everything they have ever shared on this social platform. For example, you can add filters, stickers, and text to your photo or video before sharing or sending to your friends on Instagram Direct.

A TechCrunch reader who compared the Apple and Instagram features showed slightly more facial blurriness around the edges with the Instagram Focus feature, but still said its wider availability still made it an advantage.

Here's how to get Instagram's new "Focus" Feature.

Per TechCrunch, that law also requires apps to have some form of data portability.

Instagram today announced two new features it's bringing to its app for iOS and Android.

After the data privacy scandal of Facebook that rocked the whole world last month, Instagram now wants to allow all its users to download all the data that they have shared through the medium. You can not save the images you have uploaded or posted, nor is there any option to download images that you have liked. There is also no information on whether all data will be retrievable or not. It's also unclear whether photos and videos will export in the full fidelity that they're uploaded or displayed in, or whether they'll be compressed.

Data privacy suddenly became the center of the entire buzz following the Cambridge Analytica revelations that involved collecting user data from Facebook with the consent of the users.
