UFC star Conor McGregor turns himself in after alleged bus attack
Cian Cowley, who allegedly joined McGregor in attacking the bus, was charged with assault and criminal mischief, per Chelsia Rose Marcius, Christina Carrega and Thomas Tracy of the New York Daily News.
Conor was set in front of a judge today where he was let off on bail and able to travel back to his home country of Ireland.
The Irish fighter had handed himself in to police after footage emerged appearing to show him throwing a railing at a rival's bus at a UFC media event on Thursday. His lawyer could not immediately be reached for comment on Friday evening.
Both fighters are due to next appear at a NY court on 14 June.
White has been critical of McGregor since the incident, calling it "the most disgusting thing that has ever happened" in UFC history and questioning McGregor's thinking and behavior.
White said Friday morning that he remains stunned by McGregor's actions. It was justified to him. Flyweight Ray Borg (11-3) has been forced out of a bout against Brandon Moreno because of what the UFC described as multiple corneal abrasions.
McGregor and his friends were caught on camera throwing several objects at the bus, breaking a window and causing injuries to fellow fighters Michael Chiesa, Ray Borg and at least one UFC employee.
Conor McGregor must still be reeling from that huge L he took at the hands of Floyd Mayweather a year ago because he was in Brooklyn acting like he's got nothing left to lose. UFC 223 is still set to go down with a revised card Saturday night in New York City.
Conor McGregor is restrained as he attempted to confront the referee after the John Redmond versus Charlie Ward fight at the 3 Arena in Dublin last November.
The incident occurred at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, where the UFC had gathered to promote Saturday's show, headlined by Khabib Nurmagomedov and Max Holloway.
The UFC said in a statement that the incident was "completely unacceptable" and the organisation is working to determine consequences for those involved.
McGregor, a former lightweight and featherweight champion in UFC, has become one of the stars of his sport, best known for his antics and bravado leading up to fights.
Lobov was yanked from the card and banned from the building.
On Wednesday, White said the UFC would take back McGregor's lightweight title, which would be awarded to the victor of Saturday's UFC 223 fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Max Holloway in NY.
