Ant McPartlin WILL appear on this weekend's airing of Saturday Night Takeaway

Ant & Dec axed from lucrative Suzuki car ads

The statement released by Suzuki GB states that the company agrees with ITV and Ant & Dec not to broadcast the show, adding that "as a auto brand we recognise the seriousness of Ant's charge". Dec will now host the remainder of Saturday Night Takeaway alone.

"The bond between Ant and Dec is clearly deep; it is enduring and long-term, and has developed in the public eye".

A source said: "It's really touch and go as to whether this show ever sees the light of day now".

ITV bosses are keen to keep the spotlight off the 42-year-old as he continues his recovery in rehab for addiction issues.

Dec is set to return to work next week, while Ant is off to seek treatment after being arrested for drink driving, the Geordie will be leaning on Stephen Mulhern and Scarlett Moffatt to help him host Saturday Night Takeaway.

A television insider added: "Everyone just wants Ant to get better".

Following the incident Ant's spokesman announced that he was heading back to rehab and was taking a step back from the spotlight.

However it is now being reported that the project has been "shelved" since it shows them drinking.

ITV and Dec then chose to cancel one night of Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway with Dec heading back to take the reigns for the final two shows alone.

"We made a promise to take hundreds of deserving winners to Florida to watch the series finale, and we will honour that".

We've been finding out about the kind of emotions Ant and Dec will be facing, ahead of this weekend's Saturday Night Takeaway.

But the final, already recorded episodes of Saturday Knight Takeaway will be screened with Ant appearing in them, The Sun reports.

Ant won't be present for the final two episodes of Ant & Dec Saturday Night Takeaway and it looks like he won't be presenting the live finals of Britain's Got Talent with Dec either.
