Google will now let users buy items through Assistant and search

Google says it is committing $300 million over the next three years to help

By integrating Google search on different devices, the company wants to enhance the user experience, along with driving up the sales of the partner.

Google is moving beyond search and further into e-commerce through a new collaboration with several USA retailers that would see them give the company a cut of their purchases.

Reuters reported that the new partnership, called Shopping Actions, will be made available to any size retailer in the United States. "We see ourselves as part of a solution for retailers to be able to drive better transactions".

Under this new program, retailers can now list their products on Google Search, as well as on the Google Express shopping service, and Google Assistant on mobile phones and voice devices.

Google says that its data reveals that mobile searchers for "where to buy" surged by 85 percent over the past two years.

Shopping Actions is an effort by Google and retailers to counteract the popularity of Amazon. Later, the customer can stand in the kitchen, and use the Google Home voice device to add paper towels to the same cart and buy everything at once.

One example Google gave in its blog was of a customer that can search for hand soap, find a sponsored listing for Target's branded soap, and add it to a cart on Google Express, then purchase aluminum foil using the Google Assistants voice search capability, and use one streamlined site to purchase all her items.

For instance, during the past six months, Target has seen the size of its guests' Google Express baskets on average increase by almost 20%.Ulta Beauty's average order value on Google Express rose 35% since 2016.

Shopping Actions is launching in the USA and will eventually be open to retailers big and small, but we don't yet know when.

Over the past six months, Target said the number of items in shoppers' Google Express baskets have increased by almost 20 percent, on average, as a result of its tie-up with the internet company. Further, it would also help the retailers to compete with Amazon. The new program nearly coincides with a "broad" core algorithm update that impacts the Google search.

"There's no "fix" for pages that may perform less well..."

Both Walmart and Target a year ago struck deals to appear in search results via Google Home. However, as of now, nothing can be said with surety as the company hasn't announced anything officially. Recently, the company updated its Lens tool to recognize landmarks, products from photos, and contact info from business cards.
