Thrown away: AP source: Browns trade QB Kizer to Packers

Browns acquire CB Damarious Randall for QB De Shone Kizer as flurry of trades continues

After dealing for Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry, they then went for a new signal caller in Tyrod Taylor.

Randall, 25, was a first-round pick of the Packers, No. 30 overall, in 2015 out of Arizona State.

The Cleveland Browns made lots of moves on Friday that had fans and their own players excited and surprised. Per a report from's Ian Rapoport, the Browns have traded the former Notre Dame standout to the Green Bay Packers for cornerback Damarious Randall.

Kizer played in 15 games as a rookie last season and threw for less than 29-hundred yards with 11 touchdowns and 22 interceptions.

The Browns took the Packers to overtime in their meeting, and Kizer's potentially game-winning touchdown throw was foiled when linebacker Clay Matthews hit his arm as he was about to throw.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy told reporters during the National Football League scouting combine that, "Brett Hundley wasn't ready for what he needed to be ready for". "Our structure and our coaching staff, we need to make sure we maximize that, but we also need to learn from the other parts of the offense that we didn't do as good as we would have liked, and we'll learn from that platform". He vowed to improve and come back a better player and person.

Cleveland selected the rifle-armed Kizer in the second round last year, and after a unusual training camp in which he passed both Cody Kessler and Brock Osweiler on the depth chart, the 22-year-old was named the Browns' starter by coach Hue Jackson.
