Burnout Paradise is Getting a Remaster this March

Burnout Paradise Remastered will include the original base game and the eight add-on game packs released during the Year of Paradise. What we created 10 years ago, is as fun and unique today as it was back then. Did many of you play Burnout Paradise back in the day?

Burnout Paradise was celebrated upon its release for shaking up the series' formula with its open world setting, leaving set tracks and structured races or a free-form, sandbox approach that has since become commonplace in the racing genre. After the PS4, Xbox One, and PC remaster was announced yesterday, some fans spotted that the game's PlayStation Store listing stated it would include optional "in-game purchases".

Note that the rep does not outright claim that there will no Switch version of the game, it's just that perhaps EA is waiting to see the response for the game before deciding whether or not it will be worth the resources to bring the game onto Nintendo's console.

Burnout Paradise would be great handheld game, even if it ran only at 30fps, so let's hope EA and Criterion make it happen at some stage.

Burnout Paradise will deliver the same action-packed experience that gripped gamers when the title first came out. The new version is slated for a March 16 release on PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC version coming later exclusively to Origin.

Not only is Burnout Paradise Remastered really happening but it seems as if EA is putting a genuine effort into recreating the decade-old original, including its soundtrack.

Burnout Paradise Remastered will be running at up to 4K on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, with EA warning in the trailer for the remastered arcade driving game that "native 4K resolution not available on all platforms", because consoles, I guess.
