Amazon Prime members can now get 5% back at Whole Foods

Prime Members can save even more at Whole Foods with the Amazon Rewards Visa

Following Amazon's acquisition of Whole Foods, it is clear that Amazon wants to integrate Whole Foods into their shopping experience and are probably also looking for more ways to encourage Amazon customers to shop at the grocery stores as well. For non-Prime members, the Amazon Rewards Visa Signature card offers 3 percent back on Amazon and Whole Foods purchases. Cardholders who aren't members of Amazon's $99 yearly subscription service will get 3% cash back. Card holders also get 2% back at restaurants and gas stations and 1% on all other purchases. Earlier this month, Amazon announced that Prime members now have access to free two-hour delivery on thousands of Whole Foods items.

Amazon paid $13.7 billion for Whole Foods, so the company is understandably very serious about making that money back several times over as soon as possible.

- Amazon Prime credit card holders just bagged a new reward. The card was not Amazon's first entry into the payments space, though others before it had focused on purchases, and not shopping offline.

Amazon acquired the chain of grocery stores specializing in high-end organic foods in June of past year for $13.7 billion. It nearly immediately made good on those promises with store-wide price cuts, and has offered seasonal discounts on things like Thanksgiving turkeys and Valentine's roses. Whole Foods stores have faced food shortages that employees blame on a new inventory-management system.
