Detective Pikachu Release Date For 3DS Announced Alongside New, Huge Amiibo

Along with the game release, a new Pikachu Amiibo for the game will be released, which is much larger than the usual.

Detective Pikachu also has his "A Bolt of Brilliance" catchphrase, which the Pokemon says when enough clues are gathered to advance the case. But it's not the first time in history.

The spinoff of Nintendo's popular Pokémon series will debut in the U.S.as a Nintendo 3DS exclusive on March 23.

After the game Detective Pikachu was released for 3DS in Japan previous year, people had started to get hyped about the idea of this game.

The game also features an Easy Mode, where the title character will provide handy hints on what to do or where to go next. It'll support English and Japanese voicing with French, Spanish, German, Italian, and Chinese subtitles. There's more to this Pikachu than a detective hat - he's one lovably gruff, tough-talking sleuth, with a taste for good coffee. Notably, Detective Pikachu is almost double the size of your average amiibo 'chu.

We know that a live-action Detective Pikachu movie is in the works. The Detective Pikachu amiibo is not listed yet on any online store. This new supersized detective amiibo is 13.6 centimeters. While the man who voices Pikachu in the trailer (and presumably the game) is clearly not DeVito, he still nails the role. The second episode will release in Japan on that day as well. That presentation had a lot of new Switch games announced, but lacked any amiibo news, making some fans nervous. Bizarrely, Pikachu cannot only speak English, but has a somewhat gruff demeanour and a penchant for guzzling coffee.
