Chelsea linked with shock move for West Ham star

The two are next set to meet when Chelsea travel to Old Trafford in the Premier League on February 25 however, the game may be rescheduled if Chelsea beat Bristol City in the Carabao Cup to reach the final.

And now, even more oddly, their season appears to have been turned into some weird freak sideshow of Blues boss Antonio Conte getting embroiled in a bitter war-of-words with Manchester counterpart Jose Mourinho.

"I have another year of (my) contract with this club", he said.

Conte has called on his players to show a more ruthless instinct in front of goal and, with Leicester due at Stamford Bridge this weekend, Courtois echoed his manager's words.

Conte then branded the United boss a "little man" and Mourinho, while refraining from retaliating again, made his opinion of the Chelsea head coach clear.

In terms of net spending, Chelsea were outdone by both Manchester clubs in the summer transfer window and have only added Ross Barkley for £15 million from Everton this winter, despite Diego Costa's £59m move to Atletico Madrid.

Fourth official Mike Jones intervenes as Mourinho and Conte clash during FA Cup quarterfinal match between Chelsea and United.

"I am not sure Chelsea are going to do too much trading in this window, I really do not. Me and the club know very well this situation and for this reason we must have patience to understand there is a process and we are ready to face this process". "That never happened to me and will never happen", said Mourinho at a later press conference.

"He is learning to deal with these type of situations, and if we speak about Batshuayi we are at the same level".

Mourinho also gave an update on striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic ahead of Monday's Premier League game against Stoke (20:00 GMT).

As for Conte, should he leave London this summer as is widely reported, he will undoubtedly be linked with a return to the national side as they still seek a replacement for Giampiero Ventura.
