Shrewsbury Town earn deserved replay against West Ham United

The tough-tackling defender has come through so many obstacles during his football career

Henderson, who recently revealed he has a job to finish at Shrewsbury in relation to remaining on loan for the entire season, conceded the away tie will be a tougher proposition for Paul Hurst's men. A lot of main players and Joe Hart returns to the starting lineup against his first club and the town he grew up in.

"I was a substitute against BATE Borisov in a Europa League game and I was called to get stripped to come on - but I didn't have any shinnies".

But Hart was pleased to play at Shrewsbury, the club he began his career with back in 2003, even though the Shropshire outfit had since moved from their rustic old Gay Meadow ground on the banks of the River Severn: "It's a little bit more modern than the one I last played at".

David Moyes saw Josh Cullen taken to hospital after receiving a kick to his mouth, although the overriding issue for the West Ham United manager was more that his team were rendered toothless.

That was before Hart produced the two top saves of an otherwise awful first half, and especially forgettable half for the Hammers.

West Ham were outplayed and will need to step up, otherwise, they will be wary of a potential shock exit, as the home side had plenty of opportunities to get the victory.

"They looked stronger than us". And, as the first half progressed, they forced Hart, at least, into earnest action.

The League One high-fliers had the better of the contest and West Ham's former Shrews goalkeeper Joe Hart had to be alert to save Mat Sadler's close-ranger shot and Alex Rodman's powerful drive in the first half. You're only talking about 30 seconds - and they sent on Shoky! The Hammers were fortunate to hang on after Jon Nolan shot over with four minutes left at the Montgomery Waters Meadow while the Hammers created nothing.
