Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra Wants To Be The Next Selfie Phone!

Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra Wants To Be The Next Selfie Phone!

The VentureBeat report mentions that it will retain the previous 5.2-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display from past year, and might ship with Android Nougat. But unlike today's flagships which are mostly equipped with rear-dual-lens camera, the upcoming XA2 Ultra is hoping to be different by placing the dual-lens setup on the front for better selfies. The successor to Xperia L will be officially unveiled as Xperia L2.

The Xperia XA2 Ultra, which you can see pictured at the top of this article, is poised to feature a 6-inch display with a resolution of 1080p, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of built-in storage, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor under the hood, a 21MP camera on the back, and a 7MP front-facing camera. Both smartphones have been spotted running Android 8.0.0 Oreo. The Xperia L2 does not seem to have a dedicated camera button, but apart from that, rest of the design largely remains the same. The Xperia XA2 Ultra will sport the same 21-megapixel, 4k capable rear sensor. We saw their images leaked with dual selfie cameras (Ultra only), making us excited since phones with dual selfie cams are not common. The Sony Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra, and L2 have been shown off in leaked pictures, CAD renderings, and caught as they've passed through regulatory bodies.

Not much is known about the Sony Xperia L2 except that it will feature the same 5.2-inch 720 x 1280 HD resolution display as the Xperia L1. This is expected to be paired with 4 gigabytes (GB) of random access memory (RAM) and 64 GB of available system storage, with micro Secure Digital (mSD) expansion slots to boot.

Sony has been criticised for not upgrading the design on its smartphones and a new leak of its 2018 lineup in the entry-level and mid-range segment suggests the criticism has gone unheard. It might be powered by the same Snapdragon 630 as the other two, but that's all we know about it right now.
