Jadhav's mother, wife to arrive in Islamabad on Monday

Earlier today, it was reported that wife and mother of the spy were to arrive in Pakistan on a dedicated flight tonight and return Monday morning however, the flight could not get security clearance.

"We have organised this bike rally and human chain to send a message to the family of Jadhav who is in custody of Pakistani government since his arrest a year ago".

The Indian Deputy High Commissioner to Pakistan will be accompanying the family members in their reunion with Jadhav, who is being held in a Pakistan jail on charges of being an Indian spy.

Faisal had said the meeting would take place at the foreign affairs ministry and its photo and video footage would be issued. He added that the two women will fly to Islamabad on Monday to meet with Kulbhushan Jadhav, who was arrested in March 2016 by Pakistani officials after he entered the country from neighboring Iran. "We have further asked that a diplomat of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad shall be allowed to accompany them at all times, including during the meeting", Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar had said.

Faisal had also given an assurance that Jadhav was not under any threat of immediate execution and his meeting with his wife and mother had been arranged "purely on humanitarian grounds".

New Delhi has repeatedly sought access to the convicted spy but Islamabad denied the permission on the ground that consular access in cases related to spies was not applicable. It said Jadhav was not an ordinary person as he entered the country for spying and sabotage.

His death sentence was confirmed by Pakistan's army chief General Qamar Bajwa on April 10.

Pakistan claims its security forces arrested Jadhav alias Hussein Mubarak Patel from its restive Balochistan province on March 3 past year after he reportedly entered from Iran.

India maintains that Jadhav was kidnapped from Iran where he had business interests after retiring from the Navy.
