Jarryd Hayne hits back at rape accusations

Jarryd Hayne has been accused of rape by a woman in the US

"Mr Hayne brought our client back to his home, approached her in the dark, turned her around as to not face him and told her "no kissing", attorney John Clune said in a statement provided to news.com.au.

Jarryd Hayne won't miss game time with the Parramatta Eels unless the legal matter before the court in the US is resolved ahead of the start of the 2018 NRL season.

However, it's claimed Ms. V eventually sought medical treatment for continual vaginal pain following the alleged incident, and later reported the alleged incident to police in May 2016.

The suit, filed in Santa Clara County yesterday on behalf of a woman identified as 'Ms.

The lawsuit filed Tuesday also includes claims of gender violence, infliction of emotional distress and negligence. The woman says Hayne assaulted her in December 2015.

The District Attorney's office reviewed the case and later rejected it based on insufficient evidence, the documents reveal.

The woman's claim documents said Hayne admitted to the woman they had "hooked up" and told her they had shared consensual sexual activity.

Hayne retired from the NFL in May past year and eventually singed on for the 2017 NRL season with the Gold Coast Titans, before turning out for Fiji in last month's Rugby League World Cup.

A spokesman for the NRL said the Integrity Unit would continue to monitor the civil case involving Hayne.

Hayne's NRL club, Parramatta, said they were unaware of the allegations until Wednesday.

"As with any legal matter it is important we follow due process and ensure we review all relevant information available, including giving Jarryd the opportunity to respond", the club said in a statement.

Hayne made eight appearances as a running back with the 49ers in 2015 after quitting rugby league to pursue a career American football.

"The Club will continue to monitor the situation and when appropriate we will provide an update to members and media".

A former San Francisco 49ers player now playing professional rugby in Australia has been sued by a California woman who says he sexually assaulted her. He announced last month he would be released from his record $1.2 million contract to return to Parramatta for the 2018 season.
