A date bug in iOS 11 might crash your iPhone today

Apple iOS 11.2. iOS 11.2 update December 2 date bug Apple Pay Cash iOS 11.2 how to download Apple iOS date crash iPhone iPad

Apple has published a support article where they urge users encountering the issue to follow steps to disable notifications in order to stop the crashes, then update to iOS 11.2 before turning notifications back on.

According to Macrumours, the issue caused repeated reminders from third party apps. The bug was reported soon by the officials and the new update was soon released after realizing the issue. This brings the second major update to iOS 11 and it comes only a month after the first major update was released, but in between the two, several smaller updates with bug fixes have also been released.

iOS 11.2 also adds Apple Pay Cash, which lets you send money directly to other people. Apple Pay Cash is only available in the United States, though it has not been activated in the country.

The new iOS 11.2 update is there for the eligible devices and the update is rolled out over-the-air in the settings app.

Reuters/Charles PlatiauThe Apple logo is seen on the facade of the new Apple Store in Paris, France. Once that's done, the article says, you're good to update to iOS 11.2. It seems that the server-side of Apple Pay Cash isn't on board yet, so although the feature is included in the code of iOS 11.2, it doesn't appear to be live yet.

Writing on the social media site, a representative of the Cupertino based firm asked: 'How are you closing the App?' To use the feature, you and the person you're chatting with will need to both be running either iOS 11.2 or watchOS 4.2 and be registered to Apple Pay.

IS iOS 11 TO BLAME?

.

This week has been really bad for Apple.

-After updating, tap Settings Notifications and turn Allow Notifications on again for each app.

Hey, could be worse: It's not as bad as the macOS High Sierra flaw that allowed anyone to get administrative access to virtually any user account just by clicking unlock a bunch of times.
