Gunman holds up Las Vegas casino

Metro said the robbery happened near the poker cage in the casino area around 3:47 p.m.

He was armed with a handgun and wore a mask, police said. The employees complied with the suspect's demands and handed him an undetermined amount of money.

About the time of the robbery, actor James Wood said on Twitter that he was playing poker at the Bellagio when a man walked up with a gun and robbed a cage about 30 feet away from where he was playing.

And while officers were soon on the scene, the suspect had already gotten away.

Las Vegas police are looking for a silver Chevrolet Cruze and asking for help identifying the vehicle with Nevada license plates.

"About 10 minutes later, he tweeted again: ".@Bellagio staff were fantastic.

"We're very comfortable that we'll get some good leads and apprehend the individual", Metro Capt. John Pelletier said, citing video and photo evidence.

MGM Resorts International, which owns the Bellagio, issued a statement saying they are working with the police.

But that person was said to not have cooperated with the suspect and helped police instead. "Excellent staff, cool under pressure". Bellagio has seen some high-profile heists in recent years, with arguably the most infamous happening in 2010 when a man wearing biker gear took $1.5 million in chips.
