PM Modi to inaugurate GES 2017, Ivanka Trump will speak

GES 2017 Women to represent 52.5% of entrepreneurs investors and ecosystem of supporters

The senior White House adviser has always been considered a sort of whisperer when it comes to her powerful father.

# India is truly an inspiration to all of us all over us the world.

# This summit is a symbol of growing economic and security cooperation between India and US. "It is incredible to be in this ancient city which is brimming with transformative technology".

"I am proud that for the first time ever, women make up the majority of the 1,500 entrepreneurs selected to attend", she said.

Even more promising, minority women have started almost 8 in 10 new women-owned businesses.

Pitching for access to capital and equitable laws for women entrepreneurs, the 36-year-old businesswoman and fashion designer said closing the gender entrepreneurship gap could push the global GDP by up to two per cent.

"When Ivanka Trump said that India had lifted 130 million people out of poverty she was referring to the UPA government's period of 2004 to 2014 (the number was 140 million)", he said in a tweet. In many countries, women are not allowed to own property, travel freely or work without the consent of their husbands, Trump said.

She praised her father's administration, saying it promotes greater opportunity for women around the world through "domestic reforms and our worldwide initiatives". "In the past 11 months, we have expanded apprenticeship programs and prioritized STEM education to ensure that women - and men - have more opportunities to master the skills that drive progress in the 21st century". The former entrepreneur said when women work, it creates a unique multiplier effect. Around 1,200 delegates - a lot of them women - will be a part of the summit.

"You are rewriting the rules", she said and went on to talk about this year's GES theme.

The inaguration of the entrepreneurship summit will see Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Ivanka addressing the grand event.

Furthermore, Trump's visit is far better than if her father had gone to India.

The US State Department and other American agencies in partnership with India's NITI Aayog are organising the GES, which seeks to create an environment that empowers innovators, particularly women, to take their ideas to the next level.
