Watch President Trump pardon the 2017 National Thanksgiving Turkey

Mentally Gone Trump Can’t Even Pardon A Thanksgiving Turkey Without Reading Off A Teleprompter

President Trump wished everyone a happy Thanksgiving and told some of the history of the pardon, pointing out that President Harry S. Truman did not pardon the first official National Thanksgiving Turkey. It's the 70th year that the trade group has presented the US president with a turkey to mark the Thanksgiving holiday. "Tater and Tot, you can rest easy".

Not all those birds were as lucky as Wishbone and Drumstick, whose names were selected by a White House social media poll.

If Trump can't be trusted to do something as simple as telling a few bad jokes and pardon a couple of Thanksgiving turkeys, he can't be trusted to make life and death decisions for the country. Donald Trump failed again to address sexual misconduct allegations surrounding senate candidate Roy Moore, but pardoned a turkey. "I'm going to grant a presidential pardon to a turkey", Trump said Tuesday afternoon.

Watch Donald Trump pardon turkeys: time, live stream and what to expect

"Today, the president is publicly pardoning a Thanksgiving turkey, but there's nothing to stop him from secretly pardoning a political turkey - and there is a lot of foul behavior at the White House", Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, an Illinois Democrat who sits on the House's oversight panel, said in a statement.

The annual pardoning ceremony only began in 1989 under President George H.W. Bush, though earlier presidents occasionally said they planned to spare the animals they were presented. But Drumstick and his pal Wishbone just might be the most thankful of all.

Shouted one reporter: "Thanks for the gaggle".
