Katy Perry banned from China 'indefinitely' days before Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Harry Styles confirmed to perform at Victoria's Secret show in Shanghai

During her performance, Katy also waived the Taiwanese flag in support.

Liu Wen, Taylor Hill, and Candice Swanepoel pose for a cute photo while making an appearance at the Victoria's Secret store at Lippo Plaza on Saturday (November 18) in Shanghai, China.

"The news reports I've been reading from the U.S. here in Shanghai regarding this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show are not an accurate reflection of what I'm seeing and experiencing on site", he told People.

Page Six reported that Perry's ban is related to an outfit the singer wore while performing in Taipei, Taiwan, on her 2015 world tour.

"For every artist who wants to perform in China, officials comb through their social media and press reports to see if they have done anything deemed to be offensive to the country", the source told Page Six.

"I'm so bummed I won't be able to make it to China this year", the 22-year-old said on Twitter.

According to Razek, Styles signed on to perform "months ago".

After Hadid announced in August that she would come to Shanghai, many Chinese netizens pounced anew, warning her to stay away.

The clip was posted by the model's sister, Bella, in February and later deleted following a storm of criticism. Model Gigi Hadid confirmed her absence on Twitter.

A Victoria's Secret spokesman declined comment when asked by AFP whether Hadid pulled out on her own, was asked to by the company, or whether Chinese authorities applied any pressure.

Some of Victoria's Secret's biggest names have been denied entry to China, in addition to lesser-known models, such as Julia Belyakova, Kate Grigorieva and Irina Sharipova.

Now, Harry will be bumping into a few of his rumoured flings who have been cast in this year's show including New Zealand model Georgia Fowler and Austrian model Nadine Leopold.

Page Six also noted that Adriana Lima is also having difficulties securing her visa due to a "diplomatic problem".
