Election day 2017: What's on the ballot in each CT town?

Today is Election Day State amendments and measures

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Election Day is finally upon us and many voters made their way to their polling locations.

However, the voters are casting their ballots in a different way this time around.

"We always hope for a decent turnout for the municipal election, but unfortunately that's the way it is", said Ken Raymond, chairman of the Forsyth County Board of Elections.

This marks a 10 percent overall increase from 2013, when about 80,000 residents voted, according to city of Minneapolis voter data.

As of Tuesday afternoon, slightly more than 3,000 ballots have been returned of the 7,561 ballots mailed to active Moffat County voters, said Deputy Election Clerk Amanda Tomlinson.

In Montour County, election officials reported a 27 percent turnout. The secretary of state's office then sends letters to the addresses given, requiring voters to verify their addresses by returning postcards to the state. Races for borough council, school board, a referendum and the county treasurer's race should interest voters, judge of election Mary Ann Davis said. Fruth also said provisional ballots could be added to the count.

Theresa Woodruff of the Montour County Elections and Voter Registration office said 1,174 residents are registered to vote in the precinct, one of two in the township.

Township voters were electing four supervisors from four uncontested candidates for the newly expanded board of supervisors, which is expanding to five members from the current three.

And if you are going to make a choice, it should be the one you want to make, not the one others wish you would make.

Meanwhile, judicial candidate Clyde Vedder, a partner and civil and criminal law litigator at Morris & Vedder, said he'd heard from voters that it was possible to vote twice for a candidate.

Fruth said some races were close and could require recounts.
