Catch Up With The Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Direct Here

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will have dual audio at launch, pre-load live today

Today's Nintendo Direct presentation for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on the Nintendo Switch confirms this upcoming RPG sequel is dense with mechanics from scouring the lands for materials to leveling up your Blades' attacks or stats. Finally, a new story/adventure will be released in autumn 2018 for expansion pass holders.

Curiously, the various content drops will not be available individually, meaning that players will have to pay the full price upfront, even if they only want access to one of the expansions.

A day-one DLC was announced during the stream which will allow players in English-speaking territories to hear the original Japanese voice-acting with English subtitles rather than hearing the English voice-acting, if they should so choose.

At the end of Nintendo's Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Nintendo Direct, add-ons for both this game and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild were revealed. Blades are artificial lifeforms that bond with Drivers to lend them their weapons and powers in battle. Well ahead of Xenoblade Chronicles 2's early December launch date, the DLC should be available to all on November 9, 2017. The main protagonist, Rex, is a Driver and Pyra is a Blade. While adventuring, these abilities might increase the number of items that can be collected, open up new paths to explore or initiate other special effects. Abilities differ from Blade to Blade, so selecting different Blades adds to the strategy of battle. Launching alongside the game is a themed Pro Controller for $75. The big announcement was that the game would be getting a season pass, featuring everything from new modes along with main and side quests. Special landmarks can also be traveled to at any time.
