IPhone, Mac and iPad sales all increased this quarter

Tim Cook said the firm'couldn't be more excited about the launch of the iPhone X

That equals earnings of $10.7 billion, or $2.07 per share, beating the anticipated $1.87. "We're happy to report a very strong finish to a great fiscal 2017, with record fourth quarter revenue, year-over-year growth for all our product categories, and our best quarter ever for Services", said Tim Cook, Apple's CEO. The tech giant brought in a whopping $52.6 billion, exceeding the $50.7 billion that was expected in Q4. This quarter, the company made $8.5 billion in services revenue, up 34 percent from a year ago.

But investors will also be looking for color on the iPhone X, Apple's most expensive iPhone, during the company's earnings call.

It's not hard to see why the iPhone X is in such high demand; it reinvents the company's vision for a smartphone, replacing traditional bezels with an edge-to-edge OLED screen and the antiquated home button with gestures.

Apple's flagship product, the iPhone X, hits stores on Friday - later than usual - and isn't reflected in Thursday's quarterly earnings report.

Apple opened pre-orders for the iPhone X on October 27 and has said demand has been "off the charts", although some analysts have been anxious about supply chain issues that might prevent Apple making enough phones to satisfy demand.

With the exception of pre-orders, most major telcos will not be selling the iPhone X in outer suburban or regional outlets.

Zhang and his team compared Apple's production ramp schedule to the five to six week wait time for an iPhone X to create a range for the number of reservations the firm could have processed within 72-hours for its flagship iPhone. That said, Apple during the recent September quarter managed to sell 46.6 million iPhones. Switching from a 6P lens to a 7P lens or a 2G3P hybrid lens, with camera module design largely similar to iPhone X's, would make for only limited improvements in aperture performance, we believe. But it forecast profit next quarter, which is traditionally its largest for sales due to the holidays, for somewhere between $84 billion and $87 billion.
