Monster Hunter World beta dates detailed by Capcom

Monster Hunter: World beta starts in December — and PS4 players get special surprise

Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today confirmed during the Sony PlayStation Showcase at Paris Games Week that a beta for Monster Hunter: World™ will be available exclusively for PlayStation Plus users starting 9 - 12 December, 2017.

Players, who are given the options to play solo or online, will also be able to hunt the Great Jagras, an Anjanath, and an armored Barroth.

Aloy will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4 version of the game, but the beta will be accessible to players across platforms.

Starting on the 9th December, the beta will allow Playstation Plus players to experience three quests on the hunt for unusual, wonderful and powerful monsters: the Great Jagras, capable of swallowing other monsters whole, the Anjanath which roams the Ancient Forest and the armoured Barroth which dwells in the desert land of the Wildspire Waste. Making the character playable for Monster Hunter: World should be a treat for those that adored the lead.

PS4 owners also get access to some specially-themed Horizon Zero Dawn gear, which will be available for crafting after completing a quest. It's gonna be a wild ride, Monster Hunters! With drop in multiplayer, each hunter has their own story to tell - but will they live to tell it? Capcom has promised to release more information about the DLC as the game's launch date draws near.

Monster Hunter World is going to be big when it launches on January 26th for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, though PC gamers will have to wait a little longer to play.
