A plane carrying National Basketball Association team Oklahoma City Thunder sustained damage after striking a bird early Saturday morning, according to officials with Delta Airlines. The aircraft, a Boeing 757-200, landed safely without incident; customers have since deplaned and maintenance is evaluating. "Everyone is safe, though".

The plane "likely encountered a bird" during its descent, a Delta Air Lines spokesman said in a statement, adding that the aircraft landed safely.

A team official said the flight was a little rough, but not extreme or out of the ordinary.

Oklahoma City Thunder's Friday night loss to the Timberwolves may have left fans wondering what happened in those final seconds.
