Weinstein Company sued for $5M, ex-assistant alleges sexual assault

With her attorney Gloria Allred at her side, former production assistant Mimi Hayleyi described an alleged sexual assault that happened inside Weinstein's NY home a couple of years after she said she rebuffed his advances and accepted a job. Law Newz reached out to her for comment.

Dominique Huett, 35, a New York-based actress, filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Tuesday against The Weinstein Company, alleging that Harvey Weinstein pressured her into sex at the Pennisula Hotel in Beverly Hills in 2010 and that his company knew about multiple allegations against him of sexual misconduct dating back to the 1990s.

Haleyi claims that she first met Weinstein at the European premiere of 'The Aviator, ' then bumped into him again in 2006 while she was at the Cannes Film Festival.

Among the dozens - including Gwyneth Paltrow and Ashley Judd - who have claimed Weinstein sexually harassed them, several women have said Weinstein raped them. "With respect to any women who have made allegations on the record, Mr Weinstein believes that all of these relationships were consensual".

"I think that now that these conversations have begun, there's no way that we can go back to what the status quo has been for women in my industry", she added.

She said she ran into the once-mighty mogul again in Cannes, France, in 2006 and agreed to meet him at his hotel to discuss possible job opportunities back in NY.

"It was an imbalance of power, she said no, she was coerced, and it was unwanted sexual touching", he said.

"Weinstein engaged in sexual misconduct with Ms. Huett by, among other things, performing oral sex on Ms. Huett and masturbating in front of her", according to the complaint.

But Weinstein got in touch afterward and offered her a job on one of his TV productions in NY.

Weinstein then reportedly demanded that Huett give him a massage, and asked if he could perform oral sex on her, which she declined.

"I finally said, 'I'm not coming to Paris with you, and I hear you have a bad reputation with women.' That's when he backed off".

"I told him no, no, no but he insisted", she said, describing the sexual assault while seated beside Allred at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel on Madison Avenue. "It is time for him to take meaningful action to demonstrate in deeds, not just words, that he is taking responsibility for what he has done and that he is willing to make amends to the victims", she said Tuesday. Once there, however, Weinstein went to the bathroom and returned only in a bathrobe, Huett alleges. "I didn't think at that time that enough people were sharing their stories".

Since the start of this month, Weinstein has faced numerous allegations of harassment and sexual abuse.

A New York Times report said Weinstein settled sexual harassment claims with at least eight actresses and staffers.
