Facebook Messenger adds support for Peer-to-Peer Payments through PayPal

You can send money on Facebook Messenger using PayPal now

Both the payment support and the PayPal bot are rolling out today.

It's also worth noting that Messenger users in the USA have been able to pay one another inside the app since March 2015, requiring people to enter their debit card information as a method of payment. People will have the option to send and request money using their PayPal account, and this integration in Messenger is starting to roll out to US consumers today. Since digital banking is taking shape in the entire world, Facebook has chose to bring a new payment gateway for the users with which they can send out money through their PayPal account via Facebook Messenger app. This integration also brings PayPal's first customer service bot to the messaging platform, which enables the company to field queries and requests from users. What makes this development even more significant is the fact that now sending funds through the Messenger would be as easy as sending a picture. Just go to your Facebook Messenger app and open a particular profile. Also, PayPal says that there are over 2.5 million users who have linked their PayPal accounts with the Messenger app. This announcement came today after the two companies teamed up to integrate PayPal payment services with the Messenger's platform.

Facebook has some 30,000 bots that can already accept payment natively without directing you to third-party websites.

The online payment feature only works in the U.S, so it is no surprise that the upcoming Facebook friends PayPal payments will also work only in the States, at least in the beginning. The feature is now live on iOS and will soon be available on Android. To access the feature, click on the blue plus icon, then choose the green colored Payments button, and finally choose PayPal to send or request the desired funds.

If you have anything to share or have any feedbacks regarding this new feature, then don't forget to drop it as a comment into the comments section given below this post.
