Barca: We'll be back for Coutinho

Emre Can I’ve never seen a more “talented” player like Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho

At the start of the summer, he was being linked with a move to Barcelona on the recommendation of his Brazilian team mate, Neymar.

Neymar's world record departure to Paris Saint-Germain for €222m (A$330m) in August did much to swell the coffers and Grau outlined how Barca benefited from the windfall.

On Wednesday morning (11 October) the Spanish publication added that in the summer Liverpool promised Coutinho that they will negotiate his transfer to Barcelona if the Catalans return with a reasonable offer.

Their resistance was greeted with frustration, but Barcelona are clearly not ready to end...

'We are ready to buy Coutinho in the winter market, or any player the technical staff request, ' Grau said. "The club will remain sustainable, we don't want losses and we have to continue to look for ways to generate income".

Liverpool have so far made it clear they have no intention to sell Coutinho, who has scored twice in three Premier League appearances this season.

Barcelona have turned up the heat on Liverpool and will bid £120million for Philippe Coutinho again in January. "We will do our best to meet their demands", Grau said during a press conference in which he revealed a club record budget for the 2017-2018 campaign of €897m.

However, there is no indication of what such a bid would be although the report does suggests it would be similar to those lodged during summer, thought to be €110m, of which €80m was paid up front.
