The Walking Dead's Rick Grimes will die says creator Robert Kirkman

Kill happy It's clear the show's tendency to kill off major characters on a regular basis will continue

"There is one character that is going to go from one show, that I will not name, to another show, that I will not name", Kirkman said at New York Comic-Con. The upcoming premiere will be the 100th episode of the popular show.

"More news coming in the following months", Kirkman said after teasing the plan for the "one character that I will not name".

AMC has released a teaser image hyping the recently-announced The Walking Dead/Fear the Walking Dead crossover. Kirkman revealed that the two TV properties set in the universe inspired by his comic series - The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead - will crossover into each other's respective continuities via a shared character.

As fans will remember, sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) was seen looking for gas in episode one of season one.

The two shows take place on opposite coasts with different characters at separate points in time, but that will not stop The Walking Dead and companion show Fear the Walking Dead from a future crossover. If you bring someone from Fear the Walking Dead onto the other show it's hard to get them back since at present Walking Dead seems to be ahead in the timeline, especially if they do just forward at some point this season.

Showrunner Dave Erickson, who is leaving "Fear" after the October 15 Season 3 finale, shot down such theories in the past, but Dickens said this summer at San Diego Comic Con that "I think Madison is, probably, might be related to Daryl Dixon", one of the main characters in "TWD".

And inspiration struck for him Saturday night at Madison Square Garden during the New York Comic Con Walking Dead panel.

He added: "One day, the moment will come where you go, 'Oh my God, it is!' It could happen any time between now and 50 years from now".

"The Walking Dead" Season 8 premieres October 22. He then helped introduce fans to a larger world by appearing in season 3 of Telltale's Walking Dead video game series.
