'We Will Have the Votes' for Healthcare Reform

Sen. Susan Collins says the Graham Cassidy bill to repeal Obamacare was written in a rush would reduce health care coverage and would devastate Medicaid programs

Republican leaders decided not to put their latest version of Obamacare repeal to a vote on Tuesday when it became clear they did not have enough support, despite their Senate majority.

The Senate majority leader has bristled at the president's call to nuke the filibuster, and Trump has repeatedly expressed his dissastisfaction with the GOP's inability to pass health care legislation.

He said the order was being finished now.

"I will negotiate with Democrats but from the Republican standpoint, we have the votes", Trump said. Cochran's staff said that the Senator was recovering from a "urological issue" that is neither cancerous nor serious. But until that happens, he is open to working with Democrats on the legislation.

The health care vote will be delayed until January or February, he informed the media.

Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) joined John McCain (R-Arizona) and Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) in opposing the bill Monday.

Republicans control the Senate by a 52-48 margin.

The announcement comes the day after Senate Republicans made a decision to scrap a vote to repeal Obamacare because they did not have enough senators lined up to approve the repeal bill.

"Trump voter Jordan Jacquay similarly noted that "'repeal and replace' was more of a slogan than a plan", as evidenced by the fact that the Republican Party had no concrete replacement plan for the Affordable Care Act ready to go despite vowing to repeal it for the past seven years. "He can't vote because he's in the hospital", Trump told reporters Wednesday on the White House lawn. "John McCain (imitating the thumbs-down of his historic health-care vote)".

"What drives cost of care is the cost of medical care". He said the authors of the most recent Obamacare repeal bill, Senators Lindsey Graham and Bill Cassidy, hoped to increase support for their proposal. Alexander chairs the Senate health committee and Murray is the panel's top Democrat.
