Eagles-Chargers, Week 4

Quarterback Carson Wentz #11

That's not going to happen in the AFC West this year. Los Angeles' desperation is what will make this a unique test for Philly. It's understandable for all the hoopla to die down after a team's first season in a new city, but the drop-off should not be this drastic. Just like that, if the team loses in NY, the Chargers could be 0-8. Basically, they'll be Screech. The Chargers have won the last two meetings and the Eagles last victory came way back in 2005. All three are crucial towards the success of the Eagles secondary. Philip Rivers threw three interceptions against the Kansas City Chiefs defense at home, and the Bolts lost the game 24-10. He has the weapons to turn it around in receivers Keenan Allen, Travis Benjamin, Tyrell Williams and tight end Hunter Henry.

The Eagles survived a rollercoaster battle with the division rival Giants to win their home opener 27-24 and move to 2-1 on the season. They are beyond desperate for a win at this point, and the Philadelphia Eagles have to be careful.

You have to feel bad for Philip Rivers, who has stayed loyal to this franchise and may never win a ring because of it. Smallwood brings to the table an aggressive up-tempo running style of his own and his proven to be reliable in protecting quarterback Carson Wentz.

- The Eagles lead the league in average time of possessions (34:12) and are tied for first in plays per game (69.0). According to Reich, the Eagles are preparing to face off against one of the NFL's most-proven veteran signal-callers.

Two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Fletcher Cox's streak of 67 straight games played will come to end Sunday because of a calf injury.

The immediate concern is the pass rush.

Already a laughingstock in their return to Los Angeles, the Chargers are actually covering seats at their temporary digs for their Week 4 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Cox has been a force since entering the league in 2012and hadn't missed a game since his rookie year until this weekend. The more Lynn lets offensive coordinate Ken Whisenhunt open it up, the easier it will be for Melvin Gordon to run the ball.

Eagle can keep the Chargers losing streak going. Once the game is over, join us for the Postgame Show presented by Ricoh as we'll provide highlights, analysis, and head coach Doug Pederson's and quarterback Carson Wentz's press conferences. He has rushed for 118 yards on 26 carries and scored a touchdown. A kick from rookie Younghoe Koo would edge up the Chargers to 10 points right before halftime. Kelce has a tough matchup today against two good interior linemen in Corey Liuget and Brandon Mebane.

This Sunday was a great example of how unfriendly home field can be to the Chargers.
