Not Dead Yet: Touch ID May Return in Next iPhone

Now Tim Cook has appeared on Good Morning America to insist that the iPhone X is actually GOOD value for money due to the advanced technology it contains. For instance, according to Cook, someone in the market for a new auto could go inside the vehicle using AR from home rather than having to visit a auto dealership showroom to see inside.

"At Apple, we have many that came to the USA when they were 2 years old", he said to the crowd in New York Wednesday. As it turns out, most people are paying for phones over long periods of time.

Other new features include louder speakers, a slightly improved screen and resistance to water and dust.

"Once you place your face in the phone, it's in the phone". The home button is also still there for the 8 too. Space gray, silver, and gold are the options.

USA Today's Ed Baig's headline reads: "An excellent phone forced to the shadows by the iPhone X", again reiterating that this isn't Apple's most feature-rich iPhone. Using fingerprints to unlock phones felt very secret agent-esque. If Face ID is a problem, Apple could find a way to get Touch ID back to its iPhones.

Kuo later explains that the extent of Apple's effort to embed a Touch ID sensor underneath the iPhone display hinges on the success of Face ID. There's also an all-new "Super Retina" resolution, a reinforced glass design and support for wireless charging, with the iPhone X arriving with support for the Qi charging standard.

We don't yet know the size of the battery in the iPhone X, but we do know that the iPhone 8 has a 1821mAh one and the iPhone X's will likely be a lot larger to power its larger screen.

Both the iPhone X and iPhone 8 are available in 64GB and 256GB sizes and both have the same selection of connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC (though only for Apple Pay).

Interestingly, Kuo also says that Face ID with the TrueDepth camera is likely to come to all 2018 iPhones, including the expected upgrades to the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Instead of adding more and new features to their phone, they are actually removing the existing ones. In the case of the former, iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and iPhone X generated GB4 scores of 4,197, 4,184, and 4,204, respectively, in comparison to the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus' scores of 3,444 and 3,435. One can only imagine what Apple will release next time and the cost to purchase it.
