'America's Got Talent' finalists compete in season 12 finals

Darci Lynne Farmer

"That's why I'm fighting to the end, just like he did".

Debuting an original song titled "This Time", the 29-year-old singer took the stage to belt out her emotional lyrics, which were met with a roaring standing ovation from the crowd as well as judges Simon Cowell, Melanie "Mel B" Brown, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel.

Recently on the show, Evie returned to perform a somber version of the Louis Armstrong classic "What A Wonderful World", dedicating it once again to her father who died in early September.

"I know you're dad's up there, looking down on you, and he must be so, so proud", she said.

America's Got Talent expressed their support and condolences over social media.

Evie dedicated many of her performances to her father and her audition to Christina Perri's 2011 song "Arms" was especially memorable. "So tonight I'm here to sing for him".

"I really loved it", Simon Cowell said. For the first minute of the song, he sang softly on top of the acoustics before transitioning into a rap delivered with an Eminem-type stutter: "Yeah, I know, what a lot of people think when they look in the mirror every single day of they life/ Why can't I be this?" Harvey then told host Tyra Banks, "There's really not much you can do if you stay on the ground".

A few days prior to the "America's Got Talent" #Grand Finals, there were a few cliffhanger moments featuring one of the finalists, Evie Clair. That was a flawless tribute to your dad.
