Ryan murder case: Haryana govt orders CBI probe

Ryan International School

Khattar also announced the government was taking over the administration of Ryan International School in Gurugram where Pradhuman studied. While addressing the media, post his meeting with the victim's mother, Khattar said, "Ryan Murder Case will be handed over to CBI, letter will be written to CBI immediately".

He also gave in to the parents' demand and said that the case will be handed over to the CBI.

Pradyumans parents have always been demanding CBI inquiry. He, however, confirmed that the school management would be taken over by the state for next three months.

"The Haryana Police has been properly conducting a probe in this case".

Earlier in the day, Khattar met the bereaved family of Pradyuman, assuring them justice in time-bound manner.

The claims and counter claims by school authorities and support staff members along with allegations of an attempted cover up that were leveled by Pradyuman's family members had raised serious concerns over the fairness of the probe in the sensational murder case. The Gurgaon Police had detained the school's gardener, Harpal Singh.

The officer said all suspects who are on the police radar, whether it is the suspended school principal, senior management officials or staff members, are being questioned. According to the police, Kumar has confessed to the crime during interrogation.

Varun Thakur, the father of a seven-year-old boy murdered inside the Gurugram branch of the Ryan International School in Haryana last week, filed an application on Wednesday in the Bombay High Court seeking dismissal of the anticipatory transit bail plea filed by the school's trustees. Their demand is for the safety of children in general.

Khendelwal said no labourer would be allowed in the proximity of students and no construction work would be carried out during school hours, adding that no adult, except female sweepers, would have access to student toilets.
