LA Noire gets revamped for current-gen consoles and VR

As Kotaku reports, the HTC Vive version of the game will be smaller in scope, featuring only seven of the game's case files. Rockstar Games will re-launch 4 different versions of LA Noire. It has native 1080p for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and runs in 4K on the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X. There are new high resolution textures, cinematic camera angles, and lighting and cloud enhancements.

Staton plays WWII hero turned Los Angeles police detective Cole Phelps, who works cases in Hollywood's seedy underbelly, including a fictitious portion of the "Black Dahlia" murder.

For the Switch version, there is no information on any graphics improvements, but LA Noire will use the "Joy-Con's gyroscopic, gesture, rumble and touch-screen capabilities", notes Eurogamer.

When Rockstar Games isn't meticulously crafting a new entry in the "Grand Theft Auto" or "Red Dead Redemption" video game series, the studio rarely makes other games.

Rockstar said that it will announce more details about the new versions of the game "in the weeks ahead", and it has also updated the "L.A. Noire" website.

Re-releasing this year, LA Noire will be hitting the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Yes, you read that right: a Rockstar game is getting a release on a Nintendo console.

Released back in 2011, LA Noire was lauded for its highly-detailed facial models, which were used as part of the game's main gameplay mechanic. The pricing for each of the version has also been revealed and it appears to be a little more expensive on the Nintendo Switch. This version of the game does away with the open-world format and instead packages together seven cases that have been rebuilt to take advantage of the unique controls and immersion factor of VR.

Again, L.A. Noire will be released on the aforementioned platforms November 14.

All the new announced editions of the game will be released on November 14th, 2017.
