Suspended Fox host sues reporter who reported alleged lewd texts

Известный американский ведущий оказался втянутым в пикантную историю

Fox News host Eric Bolling, who is under investigation for allegedly sending graphic, unsolicited pictures to female colleagues, is suing the journalist who first reported the allegations last week for $50 million.

HuffPost issued a statement in response to the summons: "Yashar Ali is a careful and meticulous reporter".

Fox News said Saturday that it has suspended Bolling, the co-host of its late-afternoon news program 'The Specialists, ' while it investigates the allegations he sent a lewd photo to co-workers. The outlet did not respond to a question about whether it will assist Ali with his legal defense even though it is not named in the summons.

"H$3 e is coming after me personally", he tweeted. I'm a big boy.but very telling, ' Ali tweeted on Wednesday.

Ali wrote on Twitter Wednesday that he has received a summons from Bolling, and says he stands by his reporting and will protect his sources.

Bolling is represented by Michael Bowe - a lawyer from the same firm as Marc Kasowitz, President Trump's personal attorney until July.

"That nature of this action is for damages and injunctive relief based on defamation arising from the (Ali's) efforts to injure (Bolling's) reputation through the intentional and/or highly reckless publication of actionable false and misleading statements about (Bolling's) conduct and character", the lawsuit alleges.

'The anonymous, uncorroborated claims are untrue and terribly unfair, ' Bolling's attorney Michael J. Bowe wrote in an email. Gretchen Carlson, a former Fox News anchor, claimed she was sacked for rejecting Ailes's sexual advances, prompting a lawsuit.

While, Bolling remains under investigation, Caroline Heldman, an associate professor at Occidental College, came forward on social media and recounted a number of unusual interactions with Bolling.

Bolling's lawyer denied the Huffington Post's allegations and threatening to sue all and any false reports that may be released in connection with this matter.

"Overwhelmed by all the support I have received", he wrote on Twitter. The network did not immediately return request for comment on the new allegations against Bolling.

"Once, he took me up to his office in NY, showed me his baseball jerseys, and in the brief time I was there, let me know that his office was his favorite place to have sex", Heldman recounted. "Thank you I look forward to clearing my name asap".
