The veteran right-hander was making his seventh appearance as a member of the Mariners on Sunday, entering the outing 3-5 with a 3.35 ERA and 62 strikeouts over 53.2 innings over the current season. He is 12-3 with an AL-leading 2.70 ERA in 113 1/3 innings this season. He made one spot start for St. Louis earlier this season, allowing five runs in 3 1/3 innings. They had not been rained out in Kansas City since August 19, 2004.
