What are the 13 demands given to Qatar?

But on Monday, Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani said that Qatar would not negotiate with the four states until they lifted their blockade against Doha.

The list was drafted almost three weeks after Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt severed diplomatic relations and cut land, sea and air links to Qatar, alleging that the Gulf state sponsors terrorism.

Kuwait, which mediated to end the crisis but was not a part of, handed Qatar the list of demands from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the UAE.

As well as shutting down Al Jazeera, which Qatar has previously said it would not do, the boycotting five Arab countries also want it to cut diplomatic ties with Iran.

It must also deliver individuals accused of terrorism in those four countries and stop funding groups that are designated as terrorist by the United States.

Those countries have now given Qatar 10 days to comply with all of the demands, which include paying an unspecified sum in compensation.

Trade and commerce with Iran that complies with global and US sanctions will be allowed to continue.

The demands also call on Qatar to stop giving citizenship to wanted nationals from the four countries and revoke it for existing nationals from those countries where it violates their laws.

Turkey's defence minister rejected suggestions that it should review its military base.

Doha has been given 10 days to comply with the demands. It backed the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, Hamas in the Gaza Strip and armed factions opposed by the U.A.E. or Saudi Arabia in Libya and Syria.

Doha denied allegations over its support to terrorism and extremism adding that the diplomatic rift was based on "baseless fabricated claims". Peter says that Barton sees this list of demands as a kind of opening offer.

The United Arab Emirates on Friday warned of "divorce" with Qatar unless it takes seriously a list of demands including the closure of Al-Jazeera television, as a diplomatic crisis drags on.

"Shut down Al Jazeera channels and affiliated channels", said point six of the document written in Arabic, the title of which translates as Joint Requirements for Qatar. They have also insisted on imposing a monitoring mechanism which would report regularly on Qatar's compliance with the demands.

Saudi Arabia and other nations have accused Qatar of inappropriately close ties to Iran, Saudi Arabia's regional foe.

Isik said "no one should be disturbed" by the Turkish presence in Qatar as the base aims to train Qatari soldiers and increase the tiny Gulf nation's security.

Saudi Arabia and its allies have been suspected of extensively using cyber warfare and social media propaganda campaigns as tools to target Doha. The Middle East Eye is not funded by Qatar, a spokesman for the British company said.
