Adult Swim Announces Special Live Stream Event For Rick and Morty

After much speculation, Rick and Morty showrunner Dan Harmon has revealed the reason behind the season three delay.

So, although, "Rick and Morty" Season 3 has been delayed beyond expectations, the creator has focused on quality rather than quantity.

Rick and Morty season 3 can't come soon enough, and with any luck the long wait will soon prove to have been worth it. Hosted by series showrunners and co-creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, the live stream event is set to hit the Adult Swim website this Thursday, June 29 and will run from 6 pm to 9 pm EST.

Dan Harmon, creator of Rick and Morty and showrunner on Community, and his production company Starburns Industries is bringing a new scripted show to YouTube Red that's focused on an eSports team 'trying to make it to the top of the cutthroat world of competitive gaming'.

Find out more about the Rick and Morty season 3 delay below.

On the bright side, fans have already been treated to a spectacular "Rick and Morty" season 3 premiere which randomly aired on April Fools' Day.

"(Roiland and I) have fights all the time and then we have fights about why we're having fights, well, we didn't fight during season 2, that's why it's taking longer! So what was the reason for the delay?

As I speak, more articles are coming out about me and Justin fighting. Roiland really created something special with the show's eponymous inter-dimensional explorers, and with the added creative insight offered by Harmon, the series has become a must-see original program for Adult Swim viewers. I'm talking about fights like 'what joke to do.' It's the statements back to back that's confusing: I was saying 'the buck stops with me and Justin.' It was our usual perfectionism, etc.

"So as far as I can tell, although I'm too close to it, it's just another good season of [Rick and Morty] that took way too f**king long to write because it just seems like the same stuff that took way less time to write". These watchers can be an eager bunch, and fans hounded Harmon for months to try and bully information on the new season out of him. The only description Adult Swim has given is that it will be a night of live and spontaneous Rick and Morty-centric entertainment. Harmon took the chance to address the previous season's hiccups and the show's future.
