Sunday weather: Sunny and hot, with highs in the 90s

Scattered showers and thunderstorms likely for Friday June

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 55. This creates instability in the atmosphere and there's just enough moisture to generate a spot shower or thunderstorm, especially during the afternoon and early evening. Temperatures should be in the low 70s. Highs: 70-74 / Winds: W 10-25 with a few higher gusts in the afternoon. Skies will be partly cloudy, and the low will be around 51 degrees. Highs will be in the upper 80s.

Monday will be mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. South wind 6 to 8 miles per hour.

Tuesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. South wind 8 to 13 miles per hour. Highs will be getting warm and getting close to 90 degrees.

Friday will feature the lowest rain chance we have seen in a long time. Lows will be in the lower 70s with 20 percent chance of rain. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent. A few showers are possible north and west of NYC late in the day. So, soak up the nice break from the summer heat!

Mostly sunny skies rule our Sunday, temperatures warming up to 86°, but remaining very comfortable as dew points (humidity) remain low.

"We will expect much of the same trend for the week ahead with temperatures rebounding to the 80s and 90s with isolated storm chances for the first half of the work week", Gazette news partner KKTV reported.
