Bill Cosby trial Day 8: Jury resumes deliberations for a third day

The jury ended a second day of deliberations without reaching a decision on whether Cosby drugged and molested a woman at his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004, quitting for the night around 9 p.m. Jurors have spent a total of about 16 hours over two days discussing the case and going over evidence with the judge.

As they passed the 20-hour mark in their deliberations, Bill Cosby's jury asked the judge if they could hear part of the testimony of the comedian's accuser again.

Incidentally, Constand's version of what Cosby supposedly did to her while on prescription Quaaludes in 2004, as documents from a 2005 deposition between Andrea and the actor revealed, as CNN shared, mirrored that of almost 60 other women's experiences with the entertainer between 1965 and 2008, according to Rolling Stone.

The jury, consisting of seven men and five women, began deliberations Monday afternoon following closing statements from the defense and prosecution.

"It won't change the love because when you have family, people falter, people make mistakes, things happen, but in no way is that condoning sexual assault", she continued. She said she got up to leave and found Cosby in the kitchen.

Cosby, 79 and almost blind, is charged with three counts of aggravated indecent assault in connection with his encounter with Constand; if convicted Cosby faces years in prison.

"Yes, he has been unfaithful but if she is willing to forgive him, that's between him and his wife".

The pace of jury deliberations in the Bill Cosby sexual assault trial has turned out to be much slower than the comparatively lightning-fast trial. Constand - an athletic, 6-foot-tall basketball staffer - believes it was something stronger, saying they made her overly exhausted and unable to say no to or fight his advances.

Gianna Constand, the accuser's fiercely protective mother, testified that Cosby apologized over the phone to her and her daughter and offered to pay for her schooling. "You've sent word: You're exhausted", said Judge Steven O'Neill, dismissing the panel until this morning.

The case has already helped demolish his image as America's Dad, cultivated during his eight-year run as kindly Dr. Cliff Huxtable on the top-rated "The Cosby Show" in the 1980s and '90s.

He did not testify during the trial, but prosecutors introduced his account of the incident through sworn depositions from 2005 and 2006.

Sargent Shaffer told prosecutors that Cosby had a bag brought to the Manhattan law office and that it contained a number of pill bottles. In the deposition, which became public almost two years ago, Mr. Cosby said he gave Ms. Constand three half-tablets of the cold and allergy medicine Benadryl.

Cosby spokesman Andrew Wyatt, who guides the vision-impaired Cosby throughout his day, has drawn throngs of cameras with his updates on Cosby's mood - "very confident", is a common refrain - and assertions that the 79-year-old comedian isn't getting a fair shake.

Keshia Knight Pulliam is finally answering the question everyone has been asking: Why is she really supporting Bill Cosby?

"Everybody knows you, Mr Cosby", a police officer told him while taking down his original deposition in the case in 2005.
